Writer's picture: MARINA GRAHAMMARINA GRAHAM

Hello,

I wanted to try something new, which is shrimp cake.

Let's get started!

Ingredients

Shrimp Cakes

Raw Shrimp

1 large Egg

Bell Peppers (frozen or fresh chopped)

1/4 cup Yellow Onions

3/4 tsp Old Bay (seasoning)

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp Paprika

1/2 tsp Ground Mustard

1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper

1/2 tsp Salt

Cilantro (fresh)

2 tbsp Olive Oil (any cooking oil)

1 cup Panko or Flour

Homemade Onion Rings

1 large Yellow Onion

2 cups All-Purpose Flour

1/2 tsp Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp Ground Pepper

1/2 tsp Paprika

1 large Egg (egg wash)

1 quart Cooking Oil

Water

Instructions

Shrimp Cakes

Start getting my pan ready, pour the cooking oil in , and place the heat on MED

In the mixing bowl I am adding my chopped onions and bell peppers, the one egg, old bay, papika, garlic powder, ground mustard, cilantro, salt and pepper

In the blender is the pound of shrimp

Once the shrimp is blended, add it to the mix bowl

Mix the ingredient all together and add the flour. The flour and egg help the ingredients same together.

The pan is ready for the cakes

I use a ice cream scooper to scoop up the ingredient to place into the pan (it is easy, and less of a mess)

I cook both sides for 5 minutes

Homemade Onion Rings

Start getting my pan ready, pour the cooking oil in , and place the heat on MED

Slice the onion into nice slices size not too small or big

Place the slices onions into the egg wash, and let it soak until the batter is ready

In the mixing bowl add the flour, garlic powder, papika, pepper and mix them together before adding water

I let the water run low and have my eyes do the measurement

Keep mixing the ingredients and water until its smooth and looks like a pancake batter

I individual add the onions into the batter and place it in the pan for it to cooking oil

Cook until crispy and brown
